Mary Caton Withrow

Mary Helen Caton Withrow was born on April 4, 1936, to Buel and Ernie Caton of Corsicana. She grew up in Corsicana, graduating from Corsicana High School in 1954, attended Navarro Junior College, and was a well-known baton twirler and flag-bearer for the Corsicana community. She left her earthly home to join the Lord, at the age of 90, in Corsicana, Texas on May 28, 2026. Mary and F.E. “Buddy” Withrow III were married on April 6, 1956, and they spent 58 wonderful years together. One of her greatest joys in life was serving as Buddy’s wife, she loved taking care of him. They were the definition of a Godly marriage. Mary joined Buddy in running Withrow Furniture Company where she remained employed until its closing in 2020. Mary is remembered as the smiling face that welcomed customers into the store and made them feel as if they were part of her family. She was the soft heart and gentle anchor that perfectly balanced Buddy’s honest, quick-witted humor. There wasn’t a day spent at the store where she didn’t say “Bud-dy” as if she was getting on to him - because she probably was! Together Mary and Buddy had 2 children, Mike and Mark, who she spent years chasing around ball parks, motocross tracks, drag strips, and karate competitions. She was her boy’s biggest supporter. Mary was member of Northside Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord as a member of the choir for many years. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy, parents Buel and Ernie Caton, and in-laws Franklin and Faye Withrow. She is survived by sons Mark Withrow and wife Suzie, and Mike Withrow and wife Sandra both of Corsicana. Grandchildren Michael Withrow and wife Sarah, Bradley Withrow and wife Kendall, Courtney Withrow Aguado and husband Josh, Ashley Withrow Douglas and husband Daniel, and Toni James. Great grandchildren Alena Ware and Josie Withrow, Nolan Withrow, Riggen and Addisyn Aguado, Owen Douglas, and Eli Bowman. Also surviving are her brothers Jerry Caton and wife Diane, Buddy Caton, both of Corsicana, and sister Nancy Mills of Jacksboro as well as brother-in-law Joel Withrow of Corsicana. Burial services will be held for family and friends at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat, Texas at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana will be open during regular hours Monday, June 1, 2026, for viewing.
